Centre For Language Studies
Grammar and Vocabulary
Our instructors are proficient in the languages that they are teaching; many are native speakers. One learning method available to clients is an intensive approach based on grammar and vocabulary. Instructors plan lessons and activities to give learners increased confidence in the fundamentals of the target language.
Listening and Verbal Communication
Our instructors are fluent in the spoken language taught and can develop a learning plan that is focused on dialogue and the development of verbal and listening skills in the target language. An example of this would be our French For Work programme.
Language and Culture
Our instructors maintain an awareness of the cultural context of language and the relationship between language and society. An integrated approach to language learning will emphasize these connections. This approach is particularly appropriate for learners interested in preparing for work placement, vacation, or for those with a general cultural interest. Often referred to as Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), this method of instruction is a learner-centered, task-based approach to foreign language acquisition.

Whether preparing for a written test or an oral exam, we will work with you to make sure that you are ready and confident in your command of the material. Together, we will identify the techniques and study skills that will make you a successful exam-writer.
